1. Finally allow PDSE to be available at IPL/NIP time. 2. Have an alternate spool method that stores spool data for both JESs in a zFS. 3. Have an enhanced GDG facility that applies to VSAM ESDS data sets. Also allow concatenation of all data files that can be read sequentially. 4. Restrict the FBA devices to FBA data architectures (VSAM, PDSE, HFS, zFS, any other FBA architecture. Thus no QSAM, no BSAM, no PDS, no BDAM, no traditional Spool. 5. Replace NIP with as big a block as needed to bring in all of the Nucleus from IPL/boot area. 6. Eliminate the need for any non-FBA data architectures such as PDS while continuing to support them on "CKD" devices.
