Some days it is faster than others. I guess I would ask, why worry about it? Submit the job just before you leave for the day. As others have mentioned, it is a lot less manual effort than a PC intermediate step.
It will also depend on how often you run it, as it will only download what you need, therefore the quantity will usually be smaller(depending on which PP the PTF's are for).
