John Gilmore's comment is priceless (as ever).

Someone once said, 'Retirement is to leave office and to live at home with more
appointments of extended family.'

All the very best Walt, you'll soon wonder (after a few weeks) how you had time
to go to work! Thank you for all your contributions.

Subject: Leaving IBM

I mentioned this over on RACF-L the other day, so for some of you this will be
ld news.
I've been an IBMer for 28 years and have had a lot of fun with RACF and MVS,
nd I've had a lot of fun interacting with you folks on RACF-L and IBM-MAIN.
But the time has come for me to retire and have fun with other things. I've
njoyed the discussions here, and working with many of you to plan
nhancements or resolve problems. I'm sure I'll still read both lists for
while, and probably even participate from a personal email address.
But after Wednesday morning I will no longer be an active IBM employee and
'll speak about z/OS and RACF even less officially than than I do now.
It's been a great 28 years, but my family and other activities are calling
o me more and more strongly, and it's time to spend more time with them.
        Best wishes to you all,
           Walt
