Hi Max,

See OW32672 and this post

http://bama.ua.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind9811&L=ibm-main&P=R4918&I=1

In a nutshell as has been covered here before removing a data set from
LLA & XCFAS does not remove
it from link list. Link list processing is more basic than the LLA &
XCFAS allocations and even when you remove them MVS is still fetching
modules from link list which still includes SYS1.MIGLIB in the extents
it sat in at the time you performed your IPL.

        Best Regards,

Subject: Fecth failed after UNALLOCATE LLA.

Esteemed listers

I post this mail for a collegue:

We had the need to deallocate SYS1.MIGLIB which was allocated by LLA and
XCFAS.

We executed the commands:

1) P LLA
2) SETPROG LNKLST,UNALLOCATE

THEN WE CREATED A NEW SYS1.MIGLIB IN THE SAME DISK AND WE COPIED THE
OLD MIGLIB. OF COURSE WE RENAMED BOTH FILES.

3) S LLA,SUB=MSTR
4) SETPROG LNKLST,ALLOCATE

When we executed the last command (number 5)) we goT an error IEF196
IEW4009I - FETCH FAILED ....... BECAUSE AN I/O ERROR

It seems we did something wrong but we followed all commands
suggested.....Any hint/help ?

Than you in advance

Max Scarpa
