And, if you believe that, you'd be astonished (but I know such
things rarely astonish  you) at the arcana IBM support spouted
at me several years ago when I presented a case in which DDNAME=x
appeared not to override an OUTPUT=y.  Respondent described in
detail the sequence of control blocks created, one of which
was left dangling and caused a JCL error.  I was not snowed but
yet intimidated: I don't speak the language well enough to make
a rebuttal.  WAD.
