2074 is the newer version of the old 3x74 control units. It is ESCON-attached, and can be shared amongs the LPARs. A LOT better. > We also will be moving to 1.7 within the next 6-8 months. Can > this help? More than the OS, it's the CPC which can provide further functionality. You didn't mention which CPC you have. If you have, or plan to get a CPC which support OSC channel type (OSA ICC, or whatever the name is), then you can even get rid of the above mentioned 2074. The functionality of the latter is moved onto this special OSA card. No more external boxes to handle your consoles. HTH.
