Stealth announcement?

I can still find no English language press coverage (there's a little piece in
Computerwoche)
and the only hits in Google are my site's index page and a short analysis I
did. Nothing
searchable from IBM.

I've put up a couple of links to the zSeries pages and the overview PDF and the
Googlebot came
last night (as it does every night) so IBM's pages should be showing up on
Google soon.

One in the eye for their lawyer - me being the sole source of searchable
information on their
product three days after announcement. Perhaps I'll get another asinine letter.

Seems like IBM has had trouble lately getting z-related announcements "out the door" on time. (This one was supposed to be January 24.) Remember the debacle with the z9 announcement? People were scratching their heads for days. Some went ahead and printed their articles. (At the time, those articles appeared to be preemptive!) Others were afraid to say _anything_ until IBM released the "official" announcement. What should have been a well-timed, well-coordinated "splash" wasn't. (Good thing they weren't fighting a fire in Malibu!)

IBM's marketing department really needs to fix this problem ASAP. As things stand now, they give the impression that they're "scrambling". And, maybe they are ...
