Its way off topic so if the thread closes down I'll take it offline with
anyone who has a view - but I am looking for some mainframe expertise in my
PC

For years now we have had systems management on the mainframe that alerts
us as a problem begins to emerge - hopefully before some user decides to
call the help desk to report it. It maybe measuring some system event, or
response time of a transaction/process but either way you get some kind of
early warning.

Well I am looking for the same thing for my networked PC. I often get
slowdowns (response time on the PC drops & the hour glass appears) and
while I can check all the local stuff using Task Manager and some other
bits using Perfmon (BTW its XP) I'd love to have a PC Mainview or RMF that
pops into action when my Lotus notes client does noes respond in 5 seconds
or tasks don't close down etc.

Anyone know of anything of this ilk?
