So, if you have x22 models, you're still OK.  If you have x11 models, looks
like the clock
just ran out.
Not to worry. Nobody (in their right mind) ever bought the x11 models. The B11 tape drive was a half-speed drive (1.5MB/sec vs the 3.0MB/sec of the B22) and the A11 control unit had a very small data buffer (0.5m vs the 2MB in the A22). So the A11 and A22 had a very limited market (I guess they were cheaper). I only ever encountered one site with the x11 units and that was an IBM internal site. I guess they couldn't sell them so they used them internally.
