It was announced several days ago that Cell processors would be used in servers. Who knows (lab knows) if also in z9+. z890 machines are great for Linux workloads (remember, IFLs run there full speed regardless of regular CP speed) in small shops. There is growing number of customers running Linux on IFLs in CEMA (for R.S. - in Poland too) and as Rich stated - no numeric intensive applications (use pSeries for that) but DB2, WAS etc. And also IFLs only z9 machines were delivered....
