The *latest* STK/Sun drive is T10000. 120MB/s claimed. Capacity like
TS1120: 500GB uncompressed.
thanks. I had not even heard about it.
STK needs to check their web site. To quote the numbers I did, I went
to the storagetek, com web site and clicked on "tape drives". The page
that comes up has a chart of all their drives with basic stats EXCEPT
the T10000. it is listed in the menu of drive types on the left, at
the end, so I missed it.
From STK spec sheet (I have it on paper):
500GB uncompressed
120MB/s
2 heads, 16 track each
768 tracks on tape.
Real speed is currently limited by interface: 2Gbps FC or FICON (4Gbps
version planned).
Speed matching (like in jaguars), 256MB cache.
Looks very promising.
