I'm getting out of the business if I can. Though I did love it. Cole's essay
on programming was terrific. - Paul Hanrahan

Subject: Code borrowing (was RE: Data Set Name "Hiding")

I wish I had all you guys' problems. We have no one
here who understands basic JCL, let alone any compiled
or interpreted language. I'd gladly giv e away
everything I have developed over the years, even to the
point of allocating a PDS(E) for the borrower,
populating it, showing them how........etc etc etc.

My comments in JCL and source are comprehensive and
written to an 8th grade level of understanding. Case
in point, years ago we downloaded Nigel Pentland neat
stuff, no one is interested. I'm not sure what our
current criteria for hiring is, but in my long life I
could have achieved it in 6th grade.

Old and cynical,
tb

No, I'm not afraid to tell the whiners to "go roll a
hoop". However, in addition to the whiners are the
whiners' managers who back them up and cause me
"political" problems. It is just "easier" for me to
deny them the ability to even get started on me. It
saves me time and effort. And keeps my blood pressure
down.

B-but I __like__ being sneaky! My hero is the BOFH from
"The Register", but I'm not sneaky enough to emulate
him.
