>We are a user of RMM and TSM. What is the scenario you want to test? Basically what I described in my initial post: Could you please copy a tape in status 'filling' via 'backup stgpoool' and compare the block counts of the input and output tape in RMM? For RMM it would probably be the 'volume usage' in kb. We are interested to know if they are the same after the copy operation when the tape is in status 'filling'.
As TSM always opens a tape in status 'filling' r/w, even if it is only reading it, it then sets the block count of the input tape (that was only read) to one. In our opinion, a tape that was only read should not have a messed up block count. We are interested to see how RMM would display this (basically to see if there is some sort of interface for RMM to use.) You can only see this by looking at the CA1 catalog entry, the actual tape is still correct, so there is no real data loss. Thanks in advance, Barbara -- Telefonieren Sie schon oder sparen Sie noch?
