Most of the problems I have seen with stuck tapes are at DR because of shipment of tapes. The leader blocks seem to be more sensative than 3490 media. The 9840 media is much better in that respect. So if you are having many problems with this my best suggestion is to review the physical aspects of the tape handling with the people that do so and have them check the leader blocks to make sure they are positioned correctly prior to entering tapes into the SL8500. BTW, are you using pass-through between your 2 SL8500's? If so, please contact me offline.
