Folks,

I was in a meeting for a few hours, and when I went back I received a message
from Mr. Lang regarding the software. Just on a whim, I decided to try the
install one more time (just in case there were any error messages that could
help him debug the problem).

However, WinXP Home is kind of like a washing machine. As soon as the repair
guy comes to fix the weird sound it's making, it starts running smoothly.

Yup, the install worked. Not so much as a hiccup, not an erg of come-hither,
not a trace of the BSOD.

The software is now on my PC, and it works GREAT!

Here's a tip. If the install doesn't work for you, for whatever reason,
reboot your machine and try it again. I'll bet you a cookie (and a toll-house
kind, not those bogus "internet" cookies) that the software WILL install
properly that time.

Mr. Lang, you've got a really great utility there. Many thanks.

  Mr. Lang,

I downloaded the executable, but when I tried to install it I received an error
message - I'm using WinXP Home, so there may be a compatability issue here.
Thanks.

Geetings List,

Years ago I wrote a Microsoft Windows based mainframe dasd calculator. It
provided a useful tool for managers, Sysprogs and application programmers to
do space conversions and file sizing. I've decided to make it available to
everyone as I think it still has value in our ever diminishing Mainframe
world. You can get it at

www.centralcoastsoftware.com

There is no charge and I'm not even asking for any email addresses. Check
it out, if you think it would be useful for your company, please download
it. The interface is a bit dated I admit, but, as I said, it was written a
few years ago. If anyone knows of another List that would benefit from
this, please let me know.

Enjoy,
John Lang
