We are running CICS TS2.2, under z/OS 1.4.
We also have a VSAM data set type ESDS that has to be greater than 4GB in
size. So, we had defined it as an extended format and extended
addressability in the storage class.
However we got the DFHFC0966, codes 8504, 0008,0068 when we attempted to
open that data set which was defined with the extended attribute, and so,
the open failed.
At the CICS Application Programming Guide, we've found a note telling us
almost exactly this.
The only difference is that our data set is a RLS. But we thought that, that
really didn't matter.(maybe???)
So, if we understand that this data set has to be greater then 4GB, and
knowing that CICS does not support ESDS data sets that are defined with
these extended attributes, do we have to go to a CICS TS 3.x, or do we have
to go to a z/OS 1.5, or what?.
