Gary, I did visit Poughkeepsie once. It was dark and Nixon was about to be reelected so it might have changed. All this to excuse myself in case anyone reading is attached to the place[1].
When I read that the winners earned a visit to Poughkeepsie, I couldn't help thinking: 1st prize, one week in Poughkeepsie, 2nd prize, two weeks in Poughkeepsie, etc. :-) Probably the image of that butterfly got me thinking in mischievous non-technical directions ... Since there's a garden connection here, whenever I got some tricky IBM-related thing working, I would mention to anyone who cared to hear that I put the success down to having "blue fingers". It looks like this IBM Academic Initiative program is all about growing some "blue fingers" for the future. Chris Mason [1] I expect most reading this recall one character who had a famous conversation with Detective Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle which didn't enhance the image of Poughkeepsie. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Green" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Newsgroups: bit.listserv.ibm-main To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, 21 March, 2006 2:38 AM Subject: Re: The Replacements ??? > Sorry, sorry, sorry.... > > The correct URL is: > http://www.ccnmag.com/news.php?id=4123 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
