Radoslaw, I agree. ADABAS is probably a better example than IDMS because IDMS doesn't have this problem.
Of course, if you know it is a problem for ADABAS you can use SMF to compile a list of all datasets that have been opened by ADABAS and give this to the DBA to use as a checklist.
