we have run into an issue where compaktor is running on sys1 and df/dss is running data set backup's on sys2. what appears to happen is that when compaktor is working a volume that dss is backing up from, data sets go 'missing' unitl compaktor is done. the dss backup spits out an ADR321E data set not on volume but finds the data set when the backup job is resubmitted and compaktor has released the volume. The dss parms specifiy tol(enqF). We use GRS-star, do not globally convert all reserves, do have this coded RNLDEF RNL (CON) TYPE (GENERIC) QNAME (SYSVTOC) I suspect this is just a timing matter and the defrags shouldn't be running in the storage group where batch production is running, but thought I would ask if I'm may be missing anything in the RNL's or with Compaktor.
