You haven't described the application - 2K reads?  2K writes?  2K mixed
reads/writes?  Is the app trying to retrieve records that are being
updated?  Is the device shared with other systems?  Are you using RESERVE
in the GRS RNL, or have you converted them to GRS STAR mode?

A little better explanation of the access to the data set would help
immensely...
