I recently ran a list on our primary volumes and noticed that we had about 20 obsolete volumes still floating around. I issued a DELVOL Primary for them and assumed this would clean the entries out of the BCDS as well as the MCDS. As usual, I was wrong. When I issue a LIST PVOL BCDS against them I get the following as an example:
VOL=S8N20A, SMS=YES VSAM CTLG=NOT OWNED BY A VSAM CATALOG CTLG VOL= , LAST BACKED UP ON 93/09/23 AT 00:05 LAST DUMPED TO CLASS ******** ON ******** AT ******** EXP DATE ******** ARC0140I LIST COMPLETED, 3 LINE(S) OF DATA OUTPUT *** The entries appear to have been deleted from the MCDS. The AUDIT BCDS doesn't seem to care about these entries. How do I safely get rid of them? I think a FIXCDS P S8N20A DELETE would work but I wanted to check with the experts to see if there is a safer way of cleaning things up. Thanks for all of your help. ------------------------------------ University Information Management Systems George Dranes Manager-Technical Services [EMAIL PROTECTED] Morgan Hall 121 1 University Circle Macomb, IL 61455-1390 tel: 309-298-1097 X261 fax: 309-298-1451 ------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
