I remember an issue of the IBM Installation Newsletter back in the late 1960s.
It described an elaborate modification. Basically you assembled the Lord's Prayer into object form as a load of DCs and then applied it to every non-iplable volume as IPLTXT. During error recovery on 2311s and 2314s the ERP used a "recalibrate" command - a seek to cylinder zero and a read of Track 0. This would read the prayer before the heads went back for another go at reading the error track. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.co.uk +44 7833 654 800 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
