Too bad so many of us were dropped over the years during acquisitions. It always amuses me to think that when CA bought Legent it kept the management who were a large part of the problem and dropped most technical staff who were a large part of the solution. Those who think code is a greater asset than people and knowledge are sadly and seriously lacking in vision.
But the low level managers knew the problem. The Legent employees weren't near so emotional being walked out as the CA employees were in doing the walking out. There have been a lot of changes within CA in the past year since John Swainson took over the helm. At first, there were the changes at the senior executive level; but now we are seeing really first-rate mainframe experienced architects and strategists getting hired. Things are getting better all the time for mainframe products at CA. > Russell Witt > CA-1 Level-2 Support Manager > -----Original Message----- > From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List On Behalf Of Thomas Conley > Sent: Thursday, April 13, 2006 2:03 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: CA buys Cybermation > This is really BFN (bad news) for my current client running ESP. > They've staked their future on server-based scheduling and ESP ain't > quite there yet.
