Or, you can wait for z/os 1.7. I hear there will be a 'software' timer
that installs on the SE/HMC. The timer product should be GA late 3Q. 

I think it also requires a zbox at Driver 55 or above.

You can sort of do this indirectly. Ken Clapp's NTP package (see 
http://members.aol.com/kenclapp/sntp/sntp.htm ) includes an "External
Time 
Source emulator". Basically, it gets time from an NTP server and feeds a

sysplex timer. 

I haven't used it, so I don't know how good/bad it will be for your 
purposes, but it's probably worth checking out.
