It will not be long before Darren jumps on us all again .. However - nothing triggers a Michegonian more than holding up your right palm, pointing to it with your left index finger, and asking where they live.
I like Ann Arbor. The farmer's market is fun. "No solicitors" means something different to an Englishman - a market without lawyers is indeed a pleasant prospect. I've canoed down the Huron a few times, poking the paddle at the occasional snapping turtle and watching the herons. My friend's housekeeper - Naomi - is sometimes referred to as "outboard". She's a member of the local rowing club - you sit her in the back of the canoe and get back up the rapids as easy as you like. There's an incredible programme in the woods downstream of Ann Arbor to eradicate introduced tree species. Some of the woods have been almost totally denuded. You want amusement? My daughter wanted a cheerleader's outfit. Ever tried to buy one in Ann Arbor as a late middle-aged male? Even her voice on the other end of my tri-band cellphone didn't convince the clerk in the shop. But it's a lovely place to walk about. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.co.uk +44 7833 654 800 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
