Tony,

This was a pilot project for a much larger undertaking described earlier in

http://bama.ua.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0603&L=ibm-
main&P=R72543&I=1&X=21DAFC1EBEDB03E70A&Y=Victor_Gil%40adp.com

I did not look at UNIX because the data to be masked is currently accessed
either through batch or via dynamic allocation.

Now I am going to move all the I/O logic to a subtask [attached by OPEN,
detached by CLOSE] so that all the business [data masking] logic can be
written in Cobol/LE and let the applications programmers to implement
individual file handlers. I will then add the DD parser to perform dynamic
allocation based on the passed kewords [my pilot merely accessed another
file pre-allocated through JCL] and logic to determine the file DSORG. For
each DSORG there will be a correspondent "server" routine to perform
requested I/O.

Sounds interesting? I love it!

Best regards,
-Victor-
