Subject: VSAM Internals

Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone (Mark Thomen at IBM perhaps) can help! At my last site
I used VSAM Manager (from Mainstar?)to look inside a KSDS. I've since
moved companies and my new company hasn't got that product. It was the
only tool I have ever used to look inside. I need to optimise a
troublesome file but other than listing it's defenitions through IDCAMS I
can't see inside.

Whilst I'm more than happy with the AMS definitions, do IBM provide a tool
to investigate inside or map CI's like VSAM manager? My line manager
looked sort of strange when I asked him what they use to map CI's. Either
he knows nothing about VSAM or there's a tool that everyone but me is
aware of.

As i've only just started, I don't want to advertise my/his dimness by
asking a further potentially stupid question.

TIA

Joe
