Why not control? Bying Market Share just like big companies buy other companies to increase market share, why that is not controlling? IBM bought Informix to increase database market share, Oracle bought Siebel, etc. Just to fulfil shareholders requests to groth. This is pure control, nothing else.

FWIW (and not speaking officially for IBM or anybody else), it's excellent that customers have lots of choices for tape encryption. It's a good idea
to consider all options.

Also FWIW, I've never liked the word "control" when referring to any
vendor's alleged marketshare.  I'd like to think marketshare is
continuously earned rather than controlled.
