Yo're correct. We have a university client with a nice size Z/800 that is running Z/OS on a VERY small LPAR for CICS access, and Z/OS.e on the other LPARs (with one Linux LPAR). They have reduced their costs almost 80%, soon they will have replaced CICS with SAG's Com-Plete so they will be able to remove the Z/OS LPAR completely and reduce the cost even more.
