Stop that sentence at "... while employed at IBM".
When I was out-sourced to them, one of the conditions of employment was to sign 
an agreement that you develop belongs to them, while employed by IBM.
Not just "... using their machines".

I have never seen it tested/disputed, but it's pretty comprehensive.

I had to sign another along similar lines when I was down-sized.
If I didn't, then I would not receive my severance package.

I think they tried for everything you developed as an employee of the company 
that you were out-sourced from, but that didn't work, mainly because my 
previous employer did not have an IP* policy.


* - It stands for Intellectual Property, and has nothing to do with the 
INTERNET.
