A) The latest Standard is the 2002 (not 2000) ISO (and ANSI) Standard

B) Enterprise COBOL does not claim to implement this Standard (and actually
is not nearly as close to it as some other vendors, e.g. Micro Focus and
Fujitsu)

C) IBM's OO COBOL is not even REMOTELY compatible with the OO COBOL
specified in the 2002 ISO COBOL Standard

D) Most "books" on OO COBOL were written before 2002 and often have VERY
different syntax than that in the Standard (and that implemented by many
vendors - including IBM).

E) There is a SHARE requirement for IBM to implement the "full" ISO 2002
COBOL Standard and IBM has NOT rejected it. However, they also have given
little (or no) indicating that they either see a business case for doing so,
nor have any "immediate" plans for doing so.
