I would try to isolate the ICC as much as possible. We are implementing
a z9BC along with a DS6800. I went to the local store and bought 3
5-port Linksys Gigabit switches, one for each of the ICC consoles and
the third for the DS6800. No sense putting anything in that could
compromise my z/OS console support. A 5 port gigabit switch is in the
$50-$60 range, in my book well worth the price.

My $.02

Subject: OSA-ICC & DS6800 sharing a HUB ?

All,

Getting ready to Implement OSA-ICC.

I have a 24 port HUB on my DS6800 and would like to use it to support
my OSA-ICC also.

So it' will be an isolated IP address of say 10.10.10.n or whatever is
currently configured for the DS6800

Any thought on sharing the HUB (Cisco 5000) for both ?
