Peter, while not so familiar with SoftAudit, I do know that Dorana
allows you to perform querys that tell you not only which programs
were executed via a job's EXEC statements but also any consequent
LINK, LOAD or XCTL macros issued in the job's executed
steps. Dorana's query reporting supports various filters and masking
features, allowing you to, for example, find all load modules used by
a specific job, over whatever timeframe is relevant. Both these
tools are designed to also answer the financially significant
question: "Which products am I actually using?" by machine / LPAR /
time period.
My (admittedly speculative) point was that a manager who had that
sort of power at his/her fingertipz would be unlikely to ask a
technician to start from scratch with a project such as that
apparently suggested in the original post, unless it was perhaps a
training exercise (not wishing in any way to impugn the OP's abilities!) :-)

Where's the correlation? (Sorry, couldn't resist)
