Hello Mike,

Well you can define both OSA ports, there is no relation between the OSA
ports and an ESCON channel, if your processor has enough capacity for the
new card (i'm assuming yes) then you already have 2 new CHPIDs for each one
of the OSA ports and you can proceed with the definitions, but if you still
want to define just one you can do it without any problem or limitation, for
example:

CHPID PATH=(CSS(0,1),0A),SHARED, *
NOTPART=((CSS(0),(A0D,A0E,A0F),(=)),(CSS(1),(A1C,A1D,A1E,A1F), *
(=))),PCHID=110,TYPE=OSD

CNTLUNIT CUNUMBR=E200,PATH=((CSS(0),0A),(CSS(1),0A)),UNIT=OSA

IODEVICE ADDRESS=(E200,015),CUNUMBR=(E200),UNIT=OSA
IODEVICE ADDRESS=E20F,UNITADD=FE,CUNUMBR=(E200),UNIT=OSAD

CHPID PATH=(CSS(0,1),0B),SHARED, *
NOTPART=((CSS(0),(A0D,A0E,A0F),(=)),(CSS(1),(A1C,A1D,A1E,A1F), *
(=))),PCHID=310,TYPE=OSD

CNTLUNIT CUNUMBR=2D80,PATH=((CSS(0),0B),(CSS(1),0B)),UNIT=OSA

IODEVICE ADDRESS=(2D80,015),UNITADD=00,CUNUMBR=(2D80),UNIT=OSA
IODEVICE ADDRESS=2D8F,UNITADD=FE,CUNUMBR=(2D80),UNIT=OSAD

Here is where the distintion between ESCON and the OSA is visible the CHPID
TYPE for the OSA is OSD (in this case for QDIO, for NO-QDIO the type has to
be OSE). The example is for a z9 or z990 processor (for a z900 the
definitions is more simple).

For the real CHPIDs to be user you can found them from your HMC console or
from the channel path layout (it's a hardcopy report that comes with your
processor) but to be more accureat search for the in the HMC console or ask
to the HW person that install the new card to provide you the CHPIDs

Regards
