One of the benefits of the glasshouse approach to IT is a consistent set of standards implemented across the organisation. Bascially if your data's in a mainframe data centre, it's safe. It won't (if properly managed - i know many of the war stories) get lost and no one else can get to it.
I've had a defintion of "data stick" up on http://www.isham-research.co.uk/dd.html - it's only partly frivolous. But: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060615/D8I8JAC80.html "When asked how he could be sure the information was authentic, al-Rubaie said 'there is nothing more authentic than finding a thumbdrive in his pocket.'" Watch these things. Perhaps think about filling the USB ports on corporate PCs with epoxy. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.co.uk +44 7833 654 800 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
