I have 2 CHPIDs connected to the same switch and accessing like devices.
Does anyone know the difference between TYPE 4 and TYPE 5? I can't
figure out why one shows as a type 4 and the other as a type 5.

04 ESCON SWITCH OR POINT TO POINT CNC_?
05 ESCON SWITCHED POINT-TO-POINT CNC_S

Where did this display come from? It looks like SHOWZOS.
Aren't O4 and 05 channel numbers, not "types"?

The difference comes I belive in the way the CHPIDs are defined in HCD.

Here from my system taken from the SHOWZOS display

23 0161 CNC_S Y 01 ESCON SWITCHED POINT TO POINT
24 0162 CNC_? Y 01 ESCON SWITCHED OR POINT TO POINT

and the definitions in HCD:

                    DynEntry Entry +
/ CHPID Type+ Mode+ Switch + Sw Port Con Mngd Description
_ 23 CNC SHR 07 07 A1 No CNC/CTC
_ 24 CNC SHR __ __ __ No Unused
