You need to determine the control unit model number that supports whatever device you have in mind, then look on the IBM publications website for a document titled something like "XXXX Control Unit Reference", where "xxxx" is the model number. E.g., a recently delivered IBM DASD control unit model number is 2105. I don't know what the latest tape controllers are. Unfortunately, the 2105 book has less CCW info in it than the previously announced 9340 DASD controller, so technical documents do not always have more and more info in them as time goes on. After you find the book you want, you can probably download a copy of the book or at least an url to take you to the info you want. If you don't know the control unit's model number, then search for the device's model number, look in that book, and see to what types of controllers the device can be attached. The CCW command codes have always been documented by IBM in their control unit books rather than the books that describe devices.
