I moved from 73 gb drives on ess800 ( ficon) to 146gb drives on ds8100 (ficon) The only thing real about it ,is that the BOX is a hell of a lot faster the downside being my cpu consumption went upward by around 12 % because the i/o coming back faster , the code is despatched more quickly . But that was expected. I am talking of 2xds8100 10 teras in PPRC dual site . Using 6 ficons per CPU and 32gb cache on each .( GDPS ) It is mainly a db2 shop ( data sharing) with CICS .Mainly transactions, not much batch . Hope this help Bruno Bruno(dot)sugliani(at)groupemornay(dot)asso(dot)fr ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
