Hi Folks: I have a z/OS 1.6 LPAR and a z/OS 1.7 LPAR. Both are running as MONOPLEXes without shared JES2 spool. SHARED=NOCHECK is specified for both on MASDEF. A 30 minute Enqueue Monitor capture on the 1.6 system shows numerous JES2 checkpoint reserves issued, as one would expect. A similar capture on the 1.7 system shows not a single JES2 checkpoint reserve. There are no entries in the 1.7 monitor capture that even look like a checkpoint reserve (i.e., no checkpoint DSNs or volsers, etc.) Is this something new for 1.7 JES2? Am I missing something rather obvious (always my fear)? By the way, all of my z/OS LPARs share disk and GRS ring is in use but there are no RNL conversions for JES2 checkpoints. Thanks, Cal
