I don't remember the correct terminology but DB2 runs in secondary address
spacespe mode HASN SASN, etc. to other subsystems like CICS. So if you want
to see what is truly going on you might want to cause an abend and go thrugh
the TCBs in the dump.

It was really difficult programming a CICS DB2 programming interface back
then and who knows what you are doing now.
