Hi,
I noticed that on z/OS R7 code that invokes the CPF macro may cause an
automatic "D OPDATA - INTERNALLY ISSUED BY IEAVG710." to be issued if it
gets a non-zero RC/RSN. I like this since it documents in SYSLOG what
the command prefix status is following use of CPF which may not have
worked properly. I had a question from our IMS systems programmer who
saw this every time they started IMS. We don't use the command
character with IMS and all of our have the same CRC parm so I suspect
that is the reason. Since IMS doesn't report that it issued a CPF macro
that failed and provide the RC/RSN I am guessing. z/OS BCP could just
go the extra mile for to provide for existing applications and format
the RC/RSN into the comment sections of the D OPDATA command i.e. "D
OPDATA - INTERNALLY ISSUED BY IEAVG710. CPF RC=xxxxxxxx RSN=yyyyyyyy"
