If you think you may need "more than a couple" Linux instances in the near 
to medium term -- a safe bet for most -- and you'd like efficient use of 
system resources (particularly memory), then z/VM is a very good idea, 
yes. The number of z/VM Linux LPARs then becomes an interesting question, 
primarily depending on whether you want/need to perform a z/VM upgrade 
without business service disruption.

Lots of reps smoke on June 30th. Then they drink on July 1st. :-)

In fairness, I have heard some fellow techies say that two IFLs are 
disproportionately better than one for some techie reason which I now 
forget. (Anybody know?) But one IFL is *way* disproportionately better 
than zero, so whatever.
