You should always provide a backout plan to get back to where you were.
Don't replace the same IODF; don't use the same IPLPARM.  Or at least copy
the current IPLPARM to a previous name, if you want to keep the same name
for Operation's sake.  I know you've gotten a few different ways to do this.
I prefer have the IODF contain all of the LPAR OS Definitions.  This also
allows you to name Consoles the same, and CTCs the same.  That's another
topic that I can send you a document on how to do that, if you'd like.
