We're looking at upgrading our DASD. In the process, we're considering going to all mod-9s or higher. Other than the 64k-1 track limit that was "fixed" in z/OS 1.7, are there any technical gotchas if I use mod-9s as system volumes?
1. Some software could have problem with cyl # > 32760.
2. I vote for regular mod-9. It is standard size, no problems with DR,
full volume restore's, remote copy, flash copy, migration to anothe disk
vendor, etc. Last but not least: mod-9 is enough big. One RES, one DLIB.
