I have access to a Flex-ES system here. But, I'm not familiar with the "base" and "shadow" DASD concepts you mentioned. Is there any chance this is a Hercules feature?
It does however fianlly test that INFO-ZIP will run on Z/OS 1.6, and 1.7 which was not verified until now.
I've been using Info-ZIP on z/OS 1.7 since late last year. Guess I should have mentioned that before now. Sorry.
