Mainframes, YES.  Intel, no.

This statement might sound more accurate if you left off virtual. Data spaces increase the amount of virtual storage available to a program running on an ESA/390 (31-bit) platform to numbers *far* in excess of 4G! By default, the limit on the amount of virtual data space storage that may acquired by an unauthorized program is 2^24 megabytes.
