I was told by someone at Sun/STK that ExHPDM doesn't buy you anything
with FICON attached tape.
Yes and no. ExHPDM is unlikely to improve performance on FICON, but it
does allow you to dump multiple disks to one tape concurrentlly,
interleaving the data. This allows you to do more with fewer tape
drives, and also drives the tape closer to its maximum data rate.
