Friends have told me.... If you have installed the IBM z/OS web deliverable for zIIP support (new FMID JBB77S9 for z/OS 1.6 or FMID JBB772S for z/OS 1.7), you MUST install PTFs for APAR OA16005.
I understand that the failure to install OA16005 can result in WAIT08E on multiple LPARs in a parallel sysplex upon implementation of a WLM policy activation command. One of those things where the sysprog hits "enter" in the WLM ISPF dialog, and all LPARs immediately crash. Sounds like a bad day to me. Ironically, the WAIT08E only happens if your CPU does NOT have a zIIP engine installed. This particular process works correctly if a zIIP exists in the LPAR. Fortunately, this has not happened to me.
