What RACF authority is needed by a CICS region in order to extend a VSAM dataset to another volume? I ask because it appears to me that one of our VSAM files ran out of space on its current volumes and needed to extend to another volume. When it tried, we got the message:
ICH408I USER(XXXXX ) GROUP(XXXXXXXX) NAME(XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) 467 XXXXX.NASE.CICSPIF CL(DATASET ) VOL(XXXXXX) INSUFFICIENT ACCESS AUTHORITY FROM XXXXX.*.** (G) ACCESS INTENT(ALTER ) ACCESS ALLOWED(CONTROL) So does CICS need ALTER authority to all the appropriate RACF profiles to allow it to extend?
