... as far back as I can search in publibz. Almost half your
career, at least.
But back before then, my JCL mentor told me, also, that
PROCs couldn't be nested, and that it was unlikely to
happen because there'd be no way to implement referbacks
to statements in nested PROCs. He underestimated IBM's
resourcefulness.
